Best Rinnai Tankless Water Heater Reviews
Rinnai manufactures a number of things like boilers, tankless water heaters, fireplaces, hydronic furnaces and other products. Although not a very large corporation, they make reasonably good products that are priced just a little below other manufacturers products and because they are good quality products they sell well.
In their tankless water heater line, they have a number of models, much more than other mainstream manufacturers. You get large capacity heaters that do not cost as much as others which means that you can get a higher flow rate for the same price as another one with a lower rate. Of course there are other companies that offer the same flow rates at comparable prices, but then it is ultimately your choice.
Rinnai also offers the same features like an energy star certification, and temperature controllers. They also give a 12 yr warranty on the heat exchangers and 5 yrs on parts. This is pretty much standard across the board and there is nothing special here. Even the materials used in the manufacturing prices is the same as all other companies.
The only good thing about them is that they give you really good products at a good price and there are very few companies that can match this price. Their top selling models are reviewed here.
Rinnai R94LSi
This is one of their larger models and gives a 9.4 Gallons Per Minute flow rate. This is pretty high even when compared to other companies and there are very few companies that can give this kind of a flow rate. Although they cost around $1050 there is usually some discount or the other going on which means that you can get it at around $950. Leaving aside the almost $100 savings. This price is very competitive for this kind of flow rate and this is probably the reason why this model is their top seller. 9.4 GPM may not be necessary for most homes, but then this GPM is calculated when the heater has to increase the temperature by 35 °F. In winter when you need the water to be heated much higher, the flow rate will drop down to around 7 GPM which is what is necessary for most households.
Rinnai R75LSi
This is their second most popular model and has a 7.5 GPM. Barring this there is no difference between the previous model and this one. Because it has a lower flow rate it also costs lesser at around $864. Considering that if you look around a little you can get the previous model at around $100 more, it is probably worth it to go with that one instead of this. This is probably the reason why this model comes in at second on the list instead of first.
Rinnai RC98HPi Condensing Tankless Water Heater
This model gives a 9.8 GPM at normal 35 °F more than normal temperature. The difference between this and the R94LSi is that this model comes with an anti freeze mechanism for those areas that need this feature. The only problem is that this comes with a price tag of $1500 which is a little high to say the least. There are other heaters that offer the same feature but with a slightly lower flow rate that costs much less and this is probably the reason why this is the least popular of their models.
Rinnai is known to be a value for money brand and as long as you stick with their R94 and R75 series depending on whether you want yours installed outside or inside, you are good. They make good quality products and considering that they give you a guarantee of 12 yrs on their heat exchangers like most of the mainstream manufacturers do, you know that their quality too is good.
