Best Paloma Tankless Water Heater Reviews
Paloma once again is a company that specializes in making water heaters, more specifically tankless water heaters. They have heaters for both residential as well as commercial uses as well as indoor and outdoor ones. They also come with digital controllers that can be used to control temperature settings to within 2 °F of the set temperature.
Paloma tankless heaters are pretty good. They give you a 12 yr warranty on the heat exchanger and 5 yrs on parts. This is up there with the best in the business but their heaters cost much less than others. Their flow rate may not be the best but is par for the course. There is usually no problem with their heaters and they will work continually for a number of years without any problem.
The Paloma commercial tankless water heaters offer two advantages, one is obviously their larger flow rate and the other is their scalability which means that you can very easily add more heaters if your hot water needs increase. Their biggest drawback is their price and you can very easily get a heater with a higher flow rate from another manufacturer for the same price. There is no problem with their quality of manufacture, but Paloma is not value for money. They have a number of models on offer and their top selling three are reviewed below.
Paloma 5.3 series
This is their most selling product, and that is principally because it is the lowest costing of the lot. They cost around $650 but with a very low flow rate is not worth this money when you compare them to other manufacturers who give you more at less. Your get a maximum of 5.3 Gallons Per Minute which is sufficient for two showers running at the same time. This is the most value for money out of all their products because they are not too expensive yet give you decent GPM. In fact their second top selling model trails far behind because it costs much more while giving only little more in terms of flow rate.
Paloma 6.6 series
This is their mid range offering and also costs middle of the range. They cost around $780 and give you enough hot water for two simultaneous showers. They give you a flow rate of 6.6 GPM which means that you can run two showers comfortably and possibly three in a pinch. You cannot consider them value for money because for just $30 to $40 more you can get quite good heaters from other manufacturers that give you almost 2.5 GPM more than this model gives. The difference however is that Paloma is easily available while you will have to hunt around for these others and wait for a sale to get them at this price. In any case you are paying $130 more for just 1.3 GPM and for those to whom this will make a difference this is the model to go with.
Paloma 7.4 Series
This is the least popular model and although it gives you 7.4 GPM it costs nearly $925. The problem is that at this price you van very easily get heaters from other manufacturers who give you 8.5 and above GPM and this is just not worth it.
Paloma is not that big a name when it comes to tankless water heaters and it shows in their products. Although they have the nicest looking internal water heater, it is just priced prohibitively high and they do not sell too many of their heaters because of this.
