Noritz is a water heater manufacturer who specializes in making water heaters. Their line of tankless water heaters is one of the most extensive on the market and you also get 12 yrs warranty on their products. This fact alone should be sufficient for most people because it is a mark of the quality of their product that they are willing to give such a long guarantee. Even the parts are guaranteed for 5 yrs although this is pretty much standard for most good quality products.

They have three lines of tankless water heaters, indoor, outdoor and indoor/outdoor models. Out of these the combination indoor and outdoor ones are the most preferred simply because they can be installed anywhere. Noritz heaters come with two burners which means faster heating and lower temperature fluctuations. They also give you the maximum flow rate of any manufacturer in the industry although there are a few that come close.

There is only one big problem with their heaters and that is that if you are going to install one indoors you cannot use PVC for your venting. The dual burner configuration means that there is a lot of exhaust gas and PVC will not stand up to this heat. This means that the cost of installation will go up. Noritz NR98 series

This model is their most popular because it is their largest capacity tankless water heater. This is very good for those who have families because although 9.8 Gallons Per Minute may seem like a lot if you are single or do not have children, once you start a family water usage goes up and will only keep increasing as they grow older.

Although you can have smaller ones installed in the sink and shower, they will be electrically powered ones and you do not save anything with them. Instead of you install just one of these, you can even make your storage water heater redundant, while at the same time taking advantage of Govt tax rebates that can amount to 30% of cost and installation. You will also save money for each year that you use these heaters.

Of course at around $1200 they are a little on the expensive side, but then, you not only get a heater on an almost industrial scale, you also get a good, reliable product that will last you many many years.

Noritz NR71 Series

This model is their second most popular one and is just the same as the previous model except for its flow rate. It only gives you 7.1 GPM to the earlier ones 9.8 and although much lower in terms of flow rate is still more than enough for most households. In fact this flow rate is sufficient to have up to 3 showers running at the same time. Because it has a lower flow rate it is also cheaper and at around $950 is par for the course. In fact some of the more upmarket brands charge much more than this for the same capacity.

Noritz NC380 Series

This model is used by large commercial establishments like hotels etc who need instant hot water in large quantities. In fact this model is one of the very few that comes with the option of being controlled by a controller so that more of them can be added if the requirement goes up. One single unit gives 13 GPM which is the maximum that any tankless water heater gives today. With just the one controller you can connect up to 24 of these and you get 316 GPM.

This model comes with commercial grade fittings which mean that they will last you a long long time and gives you the option of adding in one more at a later date. In fact if you live in a large household getting one of these is a good option because if you feel that you will need more at a later date, you will not be able to do anything other than get another higher capacity one then. This heater gives you that option.

The biggest drawback though is the price and at $4000 it costs as much as four other high priced ones that give you just a little less capacity.

Noritz makes good quality tankless water heaters and give you options that other brands, even the leading ones do not. Many people who do not have a large family but still run a number of home appliances will probably be looking for large capacity heaters because these machines need hot water. The NR 71 series itself is sufficient but the NR98 series is probably the maximum that any single family will need.
