Best GE Tankless Water Heater Reviews
GE is one of the best known of all appliance manufacturers and they make sure that they live up to their reputation of giving you value for money. They may not have the cheapest ones in the market, but they definitely are not the most expensive, and they make sure that they provide you with more features than what competitors offer at the same price.
When it comes to water heaters especially the tankless varieties, there is nothing much except the flow rate and reliability that differentiates products. Of course price too is there, but it is always there. GE makes sure that they give you more with regards to flow rate than any other manufacturer and you get the highest flow rates at the price with GE. In fact GE offers the highest flow rates among all manufacturers of tankless water heaters.
GE is known for their quality and this is usually not an issue with them. GE gives you a 10 yr warranty unlike other manufacturers 12 ys although their 5 yrs on parts is the same. Why this is is anybody’s guess, but then it is still something to be kept in mind. This difference if warranty could be because of a slightly lowered quality in the manufacturing although it is not necessarily true. When it comes to storage tankers, most heaters that came with both a 8 as well as a 12 yr warranty were found to be identical. How you take this fact to mean is up to you.
GN94DNSRSA Indoor Tankless Water Heater
This is probably the best heater when it comes to indoor water heaters for the entire family. It gives you one of the maximum flow rates among all tankless water heaters and can be installed indoors just like any other water heater. In fact when compared to other manufacturers they offer more at nearly 9.4 GPM. Although this is only at a 35 °F rise this is the basic calculation for all heaters.
Comparable heaters, even the best in the industry and some who have a very good name for the quality of their products do not offer more than 7.5 GPM. This means that for the same price you can get more hot water, and whether you need it or not, why get something that gives you less for more.
The only problem is that this heater does not come with insulation which means that if the water gets too cold and freezes inside then this heater becomes useless. Some other manufacturers offer a system that can operate at temperatures at up to 5 °F which is very cold indeed. At around the $1100 mark it is not more expensive than other models that give you lesser flow rate. In fact the price is not constant and if you look enough you can get the same model for as low as $750 or $800 which is an absolute steal at this price.
GE GN75DNSRSA
The GE nomenclature is the GN stands for natural gas, 75 means 7.5 GPM and the DNSRSA is just something that the company uses to confuse us. This model therefore means that it is powered by natural gas, and gives you a 7.5 GPM flow rate. This model is obviously cheaper than the previous model because it gives you a lower flow rate and if you really don’t want such a high flow rate and want to save yourself a couple of hundred dollars this is the model to go.
This model is equally popular because in most nuclear families, this flow rate is more than sufficient for most purposes, including your appliances like washing machines and dishwashers.
GE GP94DNSRSA
This model is the same as the earlier 9.4 GPM model except that it runs on LPG, hence the GP in the nomenclature. Apart from this one detail there is no difference between the two. Natural gas is however more efficient than LPG and if you have the option of using natural gas go for it. It is also a greener fuel and does not pollute as much as LPG and even if you are not a greenie if you are going to be installing this inside your home, it is still something to keep in mind.
GE tankless water heaters offer much more than other ones and the only thing that they do not have are the small sink ones that you install under your sink. These are usually electrically powered and sometimes come with a de-ionize system that will kill all bacteria in the water making it potable. Apart from this one thing, GE is probably the best of the lot.
If you feel that the price is a little high, just look online, you can get it at up to 50% less than what the company sells it to you for. All it needs is a little looking around.
