Best Bradford White Tankless Water Heater Reviews

Bradford White is not exactly a home appliance manufacturer. They just make water heaters and are probably one of the widest manufacturers of the same. They have storage water heaters, tankless models as well as large industrial sized ones in both these categories. This means that they are probably the one company that can suit any kind of need you have, starting from the really low sink needs to large household ones.

They however do not make too many electricity powered ones and most of their tankless models are powered by gas. This however is a good thing as natural gas is even more efficient than electricity and you can also avail yourself of federal tax credits by using them. They also come with very strong guarantees and you do not have to doubt the quality of their product.

Their best selling models are their indoor tankless water heaters. Although they are a little on the expensive side they give good quality products and you have the chance of upgrading whenever you want to to a higher flow rate one. Bradford White offers products that are very similar to what other manufacturers give buy at a much higher price. Whatever their previous reputation for quality, it is your choice to decide if you want their product.

Their three top selling models are reviewed below.

Bradford White TG-150I series

This is their cheapest model and is also their top selling one. It is actually quite a good heater with the only problem being that they give you a reduced flow rate. You get a max of 5 Gallons Per Minute if you want a 35 °F rise in temperature and only 4.2 GPM if you want a 65 °F rise in temperature. At around $950 it is around the same as other good quality water heaters and give you the same flow rate too. This GPM is enough for one or possibly only two uses at the same time. For example if you are having a shower, then this flow should be enough.

This heater is preferred because it is an internal model and can be used wherever needed in series with other heaters. Since it is a gas powered one, not only do you get the benefit of tax breaks, you also get a more efficient heater.

Bradford White TG-180I series

This model is second on their top selling list because it is their indoor model. Although indoor tankless heaters need much more work for installation because it needs proper venting installed, it is still the best option because there is a perceptible difference between outside and inside temperature. This means that the heater will have to work less to get you hot water, which means that you get a higher flow rate. Although this particular model does not give you as good a flow rate as some other manufacturers, it is better to go with them because their model actually heats the water quite a bit. For example if you want your water heated to 35 °F above normal room temperature you will get a flow rate of 7 Gallons Per Minute while if you want it heated to 65 °F above normal room temperature you will get only 4.6 GPM.

This is not bad actually and the only time when you will need such hot water is in winter when you will use less water anyway. At around $1150 it is probably one of the most expensive ones in the market, so get them only if you want something that they offer that no other manufacturer does.

Bradford White TG-199I series

This is the least popular of their models simply because they cost a lot. At more than $1400 there has to be something that is really special and honestly speaking, there isn’t.

It gives you the same flow rate as the 180 series and the only difference between the two models is that this one can be converted into a commercial model with just the installation of a commercial controller. Paying so much for getting the same heater is really not worth it.
